Elizabeth Warren, U.S. Senator for Massachusetts
The democratic darling may have disappointed a lot of liberals with her decided absence from the 2016 presidential race, but her backing remains the coveted stamp of approval in the Democratic primary. In 2012, Warren broke ground as the first woman in Massachusetts to be elected to the Senate. She has been an integral and unapologetic champion for economic reform. Her first bill, the Bank on Student Loans Fairness Act, proposed that students receive the same interests rates on their federal loans as banks do on theirs.
