Samantha Power, United States Ambassador to the U.N.
The Irish-American is the youngest-ever U.S. ambassador to the U.N., and you can add teacher, journalist and human rights champion to the list of her many worn hats. A graduate of Yale University and Harvard Law School, Power is also a Pulitzer Prize winner for her book A Problem from Hell: America and the Age of Genocide. In September 2015, she launched the #FreeThe20 campaign to highlight the plight of female prisoners around the world, and in turn, empower women everywhere to exercise their political agency. These days, she is flexing her international influence to fight ISIS (ISIL), having recently joined forces with U.S. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew to shut down the terror group’s finances.
