Is hormone therapy a safe way to address menopause symptoms?
We used to think every woman needed to be on hormones immediately to address menopausal symptoms, and then stay on them for the rest of her life. Then we learned those hormones could be harmful for some women, so there was a huge reversal. These days, for many women, low-dose hormone therapy can be incredibly helpful for getting through certain menopausal transitions like hot flashes and mood swings. Regular exercise and being involved in some meditative practices during menopause can also be really helpful for mental health, stave off some of the hot flashes, and help with sleep.
