Your period quality and consistency can change with time so it might be normal that your flow is heavier than it was before. Nonetheless, I always encourage my patients whenever there is a big change to their period symptoms to check in with their primary care doctor or gynecologist to make sure there is nothing else that could be wrong. In this instance, it might make sense to pursue an ultrasound to rule out fibroids or endometriosis.
