My cycle is usually about 30-35 days. Lately, it’s been more like 40-45 days and my PMS is severe, prolonged and miserable. I’ve been told that this is normal after being more sexually active and my body is changing, but I’ve been regularly sexually active for 2 years. Is this normal? Is my body is just changing?

I’m sorry you are having difficult PMS symptoms. It is not abnormal for your cycle to change over the years as your natural hormone levels can evolve with time. But the changes should be within the realm of a normal cycle length, not less than 21 day and not more than 40 days. I would track your period with these new symptoms and cycle length and check in with your primary care doctor or gynecologist to start investigating if there are any other factors that may be causing your cycle changes (i.e thyroid issues, cysts or fibroids, etc.)
