I want to use a water-based lube, but I’ve seen that some water-based lubes have oil extracts in them and still claim they are latex-safe? I thought oils broke down latex.

I want to use a water-based lube, but I've seen that some water-based lubes have oil extracts in them and still claim they are latex-safe? I thought oils broke down latex? Just want to ensure I'm on the safe side.

Yes, that is correct. You will want to avoid using any lubricant(s) that has natural or synthetic oils in the list of ingredients. Oils can interfere with the integrity of latex-based condoms which can put you more at risk for breakage. To be on the safe side, look for lubricants that are water-based, which are safe with condom use.
