I used to shave my genital area because it made me feel cleaner, but it itched and caused ingrown hairs so I grew it out completely. It still itches really badly, especially at night. Is there something over the counter I can use to relieve the itching?

It still itches really badly, especially at night. Is there something over the counter I can use to relieve the itching? There is no rash or irritation that I can see.

There could be many reasons why skin can be itchy. Sometimes it could be a contact allergy from a possible allergen, like your soap or detergent or underwear material. Try switching any of these and see if it helps with the symptoms. It could also be dry skin; if that is the case I would try a thick emollient or barrier cream like Aquaphor healing ointment to see if it helps with the itchiness. If that doesn’t help I would recommend seeing your GP or gynecologist to have the issue assessed.
