I'm currently 16 years old, and I suffered from anorexia for a year. My period stopped within 2 months of undereating and over-exercising. I have regained most of the weight and am maintaining a stable body weight now. But my periods still haven't returned. It's been 2 years! I've rested well, eaten carbs, and done everything I could-it's just not there! Any suggestions for getting my periods back? It's really worrying me.
I am glad to hear that you are at a stable weight and doing well. It sounds like your body/uterus needs a “reset”. A health-care provider should be able to prescribe a hormone that will induce “withdrawal bleeding”. A few days after stopping the medicine you will bleed. Hopefully that will reset your cycle.
