I often get a burning pain after sex that feels like a UTI, except it burns all the time and not just when I pee. There is also no discharge or smell. I have been tested for STDs and UTIs multiple times when this has happened and they come back negative. Could it be something else?

I’m sorry to hear about your symptoms, that can be so uncomfortable. One diagnosis that could possibly be related to your symptoms is interstitial cystitis. This is a condition where your bladder is inflamed – it can mimic symptoms of a UTI and can be present throughout the day and not necessarily just when you urinate. There are treatments for interstitial cystitis like taking a short course of anti-inflammatories, but before starting any treatment I would suggest seeing your primary care provider to get your symptoms assessed. You may also want to see a urologist to further investigate so you can be properly diagnosed.
