I have discharge everyday so I wear a panty liner everyday. Every now and again I get a sore, itchy, dry, stinging, sensitive area. I’m not sexually active so it’s not related to that. I assume it’s probably the panty liner but I have to wear it for comfort. So it’s either I wear a panty liner and occasionally get sore down there or wear soggy, slimy underwear. I just don’t know what to do.

I would first check in with your gynecologist or primary care physician to check that you are not producing more vaginal discharge because of an underlying infection. Vaginal discharge varies from person to person and many have normal vaginal discharge all throughout their cycle. It sounds like you are getting chafing from the pantyliner, but again I would suggest getting it looked at by your GP the next time you have discomfort to be sure that is what’s causing it. I would try a few different kinds of pantyliners as well, to see if there is one that better suits you. Another option is to not wear a pantyliner the first two weeks of your cycle when you likely to have less discharge, and to wear one after ovulation so you experience less chafing.
