Can you miss your period if you suddenly stopped drinking coffee for a month? I Usually drink it every day and then stopped for one month and have missed my period despite the fact that it’s been consistent always.
The consumption of caffeine can have a huge impact on your menses by way of its impact on the HPA axis (hypothalamic, pituitary, and adrenal axis). More specifically, caffeine impacts luteinizing and follicle-stimulating hormones which can, in some people, delay a menstrual cycle. I would say that avoiding coffee for a month would allow your period to come more regularly, but if your body is used to drinking coffee every day, it is possible that your menstrual cycle is resetting itself and thus, delayed with this change. There are other possible reasons for a missed period of course including pregnancy and stress at the top of the list. If you continue to not have your period, of course check with your healthcare provider to discuss what might be going on for you.
